I was just wondering, The buildings were in great shape, maintained, and patrolled, so what would happen if you could contact the owner (s) show them your website, tell them you would protect the location location, for permission to photograph the site?

They could see that all you were interested in were photos, not vandalizing, or looting. Just preserving history. I wonder if they would go for that, they could even have a security guard escort you to make sure nothing turned up missing.
