I've got 6 rotary phones in my house right now (including a pink wall phone in the kitchen) - all work! One is even old enough that it had a 3-digit phone number (still listed on the dial). They are wonderful when the power goes out during a hurricane or winter storm.

I agree, Tony C. it is a beautiful view. The way Motts lined it up, I feel like we're out on the water again rather than just being beached.

When this picture opened, my mind immediately started playing the theme song for "Gilligans Island". I guess I've had too much coffee today. Anyway, love the perspective of this shot. It would, indeed, make a great reef, TonyC. but is great just where it is with no need for dive gear to see it.

Very peaceful shot....no cars on the street, town lights in background, and light beginning to come over the mountains.

Have been staring at this photo for the longest time. While staring, my mind has been replaying the video posted earlier...seeing the ghosts of men working at controls just like these. Motts, you've outdone yourself with the gallery.

Thank you so much for posting the link to that video. I was absolutely mesmerized watching the engines run. It's so very sad to see those majestic engines in the current contition; yet they still hold their majesty and regalness in their stillness.

I'm wondering about those doors on the upper level leading out to...nothing. "Watch that first step, its a doozie!"

I work from home.....would give almost anything to have an office like this. You're right, eldokid, a bit of Murphy's Oil Soap and the room would be ready for me to start work.

Such detail went into the construction of this home - wood work, ceiling molding, door frames. Beautiful. I can imagine this was such a warm, 'homey' place before being abandoned. They just don't build homes with this attention to detail anymore.

Wow...love the floor and all the wood paneling. If this was in the states, some flipper would rip every bit of this out....sad.
