Nice footage Christina. Although seeing them makes me weep, such a tragic building. It isn't like some kind of scandal happened here, or half of it burnt down. It was abandoned completely, the bank that had the deed more than likely collected insurance from it which is why they let it get in bad condition in the first place. Darn Banks! Also, I am from Vermont I have never seen Halcyon Hall in real life. I saw her on Reddit one day, went to read up about it and then fell in love with Halcyon Hall, now it is kind of an obsession.

As Pat is talking about chance of becoming ill in this building, it is very very true and I wouldn't even step near it without a mask. Aside from that... there are also considerable dangers inside of it that could easily get you killed. I've heard stories of people falling through two floors, and I believe a case where someone had to be rescued. But it literally is a death trap... I'd love to go in it though before/if the state gets them to demolish it finally.

As for my minecraft creation, it is pretty much done, I'll be posting a youtube video of it this week. I'll link it here also.

Aside from that, is there anyone that could please take pictures ( like today ) of Halcyon Hall dormer side wing? ( I can never remember which is east and which is west wing ) You know the one where the dormer walkway attaches from the side? The left side of the photo in this page. I want photos of current images of it before the greenery starts exploding.

Thanks Wanderer n.n I know it may seem childish to some though :o

Also, there is this side http://i159.photobucke...0342_zps00d4e8ee.png

I had a great deal of trouble finding... high quality photos of this side of the building. I had to eyeball it from low res black and white photos and postcard photos. Anyone have modern day shots of this side of the building?

I realize the "new" dorms block some of it and they probably punched a giant hole in the wall to put in that walkway. *shivers* Poor Halcyon Hall.

Thanks you two.

Wanderer, the edifice took analyzing several photos and then free handing it with blocks rather than drawing on paper. The most difficult part was the Roof, once I got the roof completed properly ( and it involved man rebuilds ) the rest of the building started to come into shape. Dormer placement was also difficult.

The other side http://i159.photobucke...4520_zpsd3ad7d9e.png

You may not recognize the structure to the right. But that is supposedly the original Dining Hall that was demolished. The windows are probably wrong, but I liked it so stuck with it.

I recreated it based on the floor plans and a few very distant images. This is how the roof is apparently, it is really interesting. A hipped and gabled roof structure combined.

wanderer I've gained an even greater appreciation for the architecture of this building while creating a MineCraft version. Granted MineCraft is by no means realistic, it is more like legos if anything. But I'd like to think I've gotten a very accurate block style Halcyon Hall built.

Anyone with basement floor plans? Or at least pictures/video?

The above is the "back" of my version, all floors and rooms exist in this. It is to scale in terms of real life to minecraft conversion ( with a few differences and my own ideas added onto it .. like a moat )

Pat that is good and bad to hear I suppose. Part of me wanted it to stand till it rotted to the ground rather than see it demolished. But I guess safety first is more important and the falling to the ground might destroy that wall, although for me... that wall is nothing without the rest of the building.

In other news, I near completion of my MineCraft replica of Halcyon Hall of 1897. I just wish I knew what the basements looked like in terms of floor plans.

I really hope that everyone is done with the soap dispenser jokes. I realize that it's a way to show your loyalty, that you've been here from the beginning, but Motts provides us with so many amazing pictures. Days of entertainment. And reminding him of the only mistake he's made must get annoying for him.

This is the bridgeway between east wing and the turret building right? :3

Alumna it looks like the furthest East Wing building stairwell, leading up to the turret and 2nd floor.

But don't take my word for it, I've never been in this building. I'm only rebuilding it in a game and architecture program.

The only guide, out dated floor plans and peoples photos.
