actuly, that handwheel would control the throttle valve, controling the steam entering the turbine, thus controling speed, thus controling electrical output of the generator. sorry , thought i'd throw that in.

We Have some pretty good sized ones out here (Arizona) ...and the cars last forever...well almost...you can find some even hanging out around the old mines & ghost towns...when they left they left it all behind also

It appears that this is the same equipment as in the picture 'Rusted Ventricles' (Motts?). If it is thenthese are the motor drives for a set of draft fans (fans that move air through the boiler). There are a few types of fans FD which force air into the boiler, ID that remove combustin gasses from the boiler and Gas Recirc that move the air around in the boiler.

The rails of the battery rack have a protective cover on them to keep the acid off the rails. Its the covers that are deforming.

Yup, I've shot Buffalo Central Terminal and Michigan Central Station in Detroit, each has a gallery I haven't gotten to as of yet... both are incredible buildings.

It looks like a piece of duct tape that fell off something and caught the cap so it's just hanging there.

I've shot a junkyard which was inside a giant warehouse that I thought was abandoned. One of the galleries I haven't gotten to yet... but an old junkyard would be fun to shoot, especially at night. Big and interesting ones are far and few between, and are usually guarded by dogs though...
