Tears come to my eyes as I look through these. My grandmother was a patient here after having a "nervous breakdown" due to my grandfather having an affair. I believed Gramma when she said it was his way of getting her out of the way for awhile.

the ogdensburg psych center is in my home town. I worked on the close down of the buildings. these rooms were are all washed from top to bottom. And all contents in the buildings were removed. it took a crew of about 150 people 3 months to get this work done. the nicotine was so thick on the walls some had to be washed 3 times.

My dad worked at this hospital for nearly 40 years. I'm going to show him your photos when I go home this summer. He'll probably be able to tell you what each building and passage way was.

I worked in this building and this curved hallway was a beautiful feature. This building remains standing and is a very sturdy building. Asbestos is the main problem with repurposing these old buildings.

I'd rather not discuss that kind of information due to legal reasons; besides, I'm sure things have changed since I visited 10 years ago!

Sad to think my grandfather ended up here.
Just weird! A weird room! Don´t understand how the beds would be placed. To lie in bed looking up at that ceiling would have been uncanny. There are so many windows; 25 ??? Or more? It was a very light room!
