Not to put too fine a point to this exercise in morality. It's private property., you may not have broken but you entered without permission, depending on the time of day, daytime, night time, misdemeanor, felony. If you "steal" something , (collect a souvenier) it becomes a felony. Y'see you committed a crime while committing a crime. I realize that's the extreme end of the charges spectrum, but depending on how tired the cops are, of people breaking in, and having to chase them. It could happen. Many police forces are less tolerant of UE'ers these days, and will overcharge. Figure on a heavy fine and court costs ,to go along with a donation to the victim witness fund ,plus community service. Unless of course you've been caught before and they're tired of your butt.
I'll make this brief. Just because this place is abandoned, does not mean that it is not owned by someone. Theft and vandalism is just what it is. And last time I checked, both were illegal. "Take only memories, leave only footprints."
Firstly, where is the insult? I am a humourous person, I like to have a laugh!!!!
Secondly, theft is not acceptable, no matter what the reason! Especially not for personal gain and I am not the only one that thinks this!!! And that is the end of that.
Sian, this is not a place for you to insult people. Some don't think its wrong to take items from abandoned building, I do not think its wrong at all, you apararently do, were all entitled to our opinions, but shouldnt put others down for disageeing with them
Get over it!!!! Its stuff from an abandone building that no one would ever possibly miss and it would all just be picked up with the rubble when the hotel falls down or gets torn down
JLP, what is it with you? You wanna be a glorified thief!!! Its not yours to take!!!
As for a conversation piece...I can see it with the in-laws now:
"This is the phone I stole from a hotel, and you see that light fixture, I robbed that too!"
Whats the point of robbing stuff from abandoned places? Are you that desperate to own stuff that you would scavenge it? Its pathetic! Does anybody have any morals??? Anyone...???
JLP - maybe you could go find yours with your GPS....
For those of you contemplating on calling that number (assuming last digit is 0)....don't. You'll only end up disturbing a young man who has now been assigned this number by the phone company, and no, he is not a ghost.
