Ah, the 70s. I'm a proud survivor of that era. It looks like this room saw it's share of polyester clothes, platform shoes, bell bottoms, and big hair. Barry White or Rod Stewart is playing on the 8-track (oh baby, baby). The smell of "Brute" or "High Karate" cologne mixed with the smell of a fat joint filled with Mexican headache weed permeates the air. Out in the parking lot is an AMC Pacer or Ford Granada. "Tonight's the night.... "
I remember using those dial phones. The frustrating thing was getting to the last number and your finger would slip out of the dial forcing you to start all over again. Ah, those were the days.
Money, or lack of it, leads to the demise of most buildings. To see a place like this go away is one thing, but what breaks my heart is to see brick & concrete structures decay. A lot more hand built craftsmanship went into those.
If you had your honeymoon in that tub and are now divorced, save a pic of the tub here in present condition and file it with your divorce papers as a reminder. hehe

I didn't try calling it because others already did.
I spent some time skiing here as a child with children of a man that owned a bar in Woodbourne... The Great Escape Tavern. My father lived in the basement of that bar for many years roughly from the mid 80's to the early 90's. Unfortunately my father passed away in 2006 however I am desperate to find some of the people he work/associated with. As this was 20 years ago and I was only a child I can only remember 1st names... please contact me via email if you think you may know me or my father... saraherring7477@gmail.com
I have a Red/White Rival Ice-O-Mat Vogue model that belonged to my Great Grandparents. I think it looks cool in my kitchen and looks and works great. I use it frequently when making alcoholic beverages for myself and friends. Its a great conversation piece...especially now that I have researched it a bit.
Very fond memories.
