From photos I've seen from Waverly Hills and others, I think most TB sanatoriums must have had porches like this. In this photo (see link) of the old Texas State Sanatorium in Tom Green County there was a sun porch exactly like this one. (Sanatorium, Texas) http://mcgovern.librar...ost/N-S/sana_06.html
The patients were wheeled there in their beds to spend some time in the sunlight. When we bought some old property with lots of old buildings to explore, I found a bundle of letters written to a young woman who was ill with TB and staying there. She was in there for a much longer period of time than most patients were allowed to stay, her husband was a State Rep who must have had some clout. Most patients were only allowed to stay for 6 months I believe. She was in there for about two years. She eventually died, leaving behind her little son. The letters were heartbreaking.
Love your pics! What do you suppose the filmy things are at the bottom part of the first two windows? Ghost children or curtains maybe? The second one in is sticking outside the window!
Went there last Saturday... Partner freaked out so we didn't make it to the basement but we're going back in December to get to the basement to see this thing... Are all the tunnels flooded? Cuz I want to get down there
i know one thing that they allow a few companies the right to rent some of the buildings for storage hargrove was one them i have been there a few times it has always been creepy not so many years ago dc police got in some kind of trouble for storing stolen uniforms or something like that fraud shit
i have been alot i know that they used premises to train police and dogs for tacticul reasons the building offers a great resource for that man it would great to paintball just on they outside i done some crazy shit there and i never seen nothing spooky there but i have seen ghosts orbs and have had ex with evps no shit i think some of you who go there might be more open to receive than others
