The light fixtures here are really cool. Original school house lights. Very vintage.

the reason why the room was probably pink is because they say that shade of pink has a calming effect on people i grew up about a mile from that place a lot of horrible things happened there but if you study the history of mental health it is absolutly crazy the ridiculous things that were done to treat patients the farther you go back the worse it was today they just birage patient with the drug of the month from these co.

It probably turned the bath water to ice cold too, while they were being electroshocked and lobotomized at the same time.

It's a three-in-one switch.

They performed Electro Shock Therapy on the patients here. Im pretty sure that switch has nothing to do with the light, but more with the amount of electricity getting pumped into the patients here.

Hi Erin, ness turned out to be right. Here it is, 4 years later, and a haunted house businessman has purchased Pennhurst and will open a haunted house in the admin. bldg. for Halloween 2010. I saw a preview of it last night on TV and it will be FREKY. Too bad I live in California. :-(

It was a state hospital, the last thing they care about it decorating the place.

t, just to let you know, that isn't an orb. It's more than likely a round piece of metal screwed in to the wall to cover up a hole where a faucet of something of the plumbing sort was taken out.

I don't know about back in the day, but currently state hospitals no longer have morgues on the grounds. All people who die are taken off grounds. The tunnels were ALWAYS only used for transporting patients to and from buildings during bad weather (i.e. rain, snow, etc.). In fact, in hospitals that are still running, the tunnels are still used for that exact purpose. As for the beating of people and such, well, you may want to stop watching so many scary movies and actually do some research of your own instead of depending on Hollywood to supply you with all of your facts. ^.^

The funny thing is that they still use this exact same model (cranks and all) in some psychiatric hospitals. Of course, they are obviously in better condition!
