Ah, some light in a dark place! Woot! Ok, back to the dark medical evilness. To think, I may not be able to go to another hospital again.....thinking they may kill me. 0.o even though i already think that....

Equipment like this is left to rot because it is not worth saving. In 1987 when this facility was closed this Simplex was nothing but an old, outdated projector. It may have been expensive when it was new, but reel-to-reel / carbon arc was well outdated by that time. How much value do you see in maintaining an '82 Ford LTD....It's not classic, just old....

What are people doing walking around Pennhurst like it was some kind of place to have fun and have no respect for those who were patients and their relatives who went to visit there with much sadness.

Powerful shot to say the least.

If I'm not mistaken (and I very well could be,) Disney threw a fit a while back about schools and hospitals painting murals of Disney characters without obtaining permission ( which never would have been given. ) In fact, I believe there were several lawsuits relating to such. I don't know whether Pennhurst was one of the involved, but since Dopey here has been painted over, it certainly seems plausible. . . then again, I believe the building had other, later uses as well, so the paintjob could have been because of that.

As an artist I don't give a crud about the history behind this image and am taking it as a piece of art in a wonderfully creepy series of artistic images. All your images create a great sense of atmosphere and I am absolutely drawn in. Bravo.
