Anyone thinking of "Mrs. Norman Bates"
Now if there was the imprint of someone lying on that bed, that would be it for me!!
Dress or sewing patterns gets my vote. Even the paper looks like the kind modern patterns are printed on.
Yes, that's out of place, some "artist" probably moved it there from somewhere else. (which is fine, but you should put it back where you found it!)
I third the motion! It's always been a dream of mine to find a house like this that was just "left", something I could fix up and live in.
Antique dealer nothing, I'd love those pieces myself!! A fresh coat of paint on the walls and this room would be good to go.
I think you're right. As an avid smoker, those look like 100's filters to me which Pall Mall probably didn't come out with a 100s cigarette until the 70's. So this has to be someone recent, plus they just look fairly new.
To quote a line from Seinfeld..."maybe he's well read...or maybe, well...Red". or something like that
Do Zombies have noses??...more importantly, do they have snot?
I was just thinking...did you happen to try any of the lights? Was there still power to this place? I'm sure after being left for so long and power bills not being paid, the power company would have shut it off. But I still would have tried one of the lights.
This makes me think of that 1960 movie "The Time Machine", especially the part when George comes back from the future and walks through his own house, all dust and cobweb covered but everything right where he left it. He had no spouse or children so his house just sat after he "disappeared".
If you're nuts Autoguy, then so am I. Because I was just thinking the same things. Why was this place just left. Did the occupants have no relatives or children? That's what I'm thinking, they lived here and when they passed, that was it. There wasn't anyone to come and ransack the place which is what usually happens after someone dies. That's why I plan on taking all my crap with me!
Between the desk and that paneling on the wall, nothing a little Murphy's Oil Soap couldn't cure! Would clean up beautifully I bet.
I'm really loving this place!
Obviously a "custom" piece from when this place was built. Very cool!
