That one is abandoned also? Poor Detroit, in such bad shape. I really look forward to your photos of the Metropolitain Building, Mr. Motts.
Oh boy, a new gallery. This is a lovely shot. Would be nice wallpaper.

I was courious what was written on that tape so I've decoded the visible parts. Here are the fragments:
"thermos"
"this raise"
"suen could there"
"be an actived"
"tionship betw"
"corporati"
"the employer"

I stumbled upon a similar tape once, and was disappointed with the contents: "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog" - repeated over and over again.
If people only knew that those words were all too prophetic. Great photoshoot Mr. Motts. Planning on a visit to the Motor City this fall myself.

Raf seems to be correct. Think it's Telex type. I've used it in one of my first jobs. Yes, I'm getting up there in age.

Thank you Motts for another stellar gallery!
Very beautiful building. They don't build them like this anymore.
Anything from Detroit is tops in my book. Great to see another gallery!

Partially frozen that could be a death trap in winter for exploring kids.. I can not even think about it.

Yep, beauty school, I think. Wig/mannequin. I think upper right is the "neck". Clamps to the counter top.

This place has an "abandoned beauty school" vibe. Nice gallery Mr. M... Thank You!

Never to downplay Mott's talent or this site I can't get enough of, but for more of Detroit you can take a look at forgottendetroit.com The content hasn't been updated in a while (and a couple of the buildings have since been restored) but it covers some amazing buildings and several theatres which are one of my passions. The site isn't mine and I don't have anything to do with it.
