Classic!....May Fortune Favor the Foolish! Well done.
That brickwork is incredible. Imagine the cost to replicate that today...if you could find masons who posess that level of skill...very unlikely. My whole point is, when we lose these buildings, we also lose the remarkable design and craftmanship they required from a bygone era, never to be replicated.
Michigan Central defines Detroit. Marvelous history, unmistakeable purpose and presence, robust and resilient, this incredible landmark will endure into the future just as the city it represents will.
If people only knew that those words were all too prophetic. Great photoshoot Mr. Motts. Planning on a visit to the Motor City this fall myself.
Somewhat similar to Renwick in NYC, with its' robust exterior & collapsed interior. A most excellent find Mr. Motts!
Anyone who has not experienced King's Park in person, it is an excellent example of monolithic presence & blatant abandonment- which Mr Motts captures here without question.
Gaebler is now gone...totally demolished by the City of Waltham as of December 30, 2010...at least they didn't sell it to Avalon Bay.
Mr. Motts once again displays his command of colour & texture in this shot, which is without equal. Many thanks for an extraordinary gallery!
Looks like something from a DEVO video-- "Mr. DNA" is in the house~! Superb as always Mr. Motts.
Hollywood in its' best attempt could never replicate the solitude & atmosphere of this photoset-- extraordinary Mr. Motts~!
The blending of textures & light is fantastic here.
Most excellent photoset - this jail looks 100 times more sinister then Eastern State Penn.
The image of Central Station is absolutly fantastic~!
Ephemera: Lunar Detroit
Indeed that is a photo of Himmler, Reichsfuhrer of the Schutzstaffel (SS)...surprising to see this terrifying man amongst the other sublime photos on the wall.
Extraordinary image~!
