I just thought I'd come by to see if there was something new here, and voila...a photo shoot at a cemetery.
Yes, Freespirit76. True, probably....... but yet so completely stripped and the steering-wheel was left. Is that not strange?
It IS a Porsche wheel.
Wonder IF the engine is gone also?
It IS Porsch engine.
Hopefully owners will get to know.
Arghhhh + grrrrr.
(i love Infrared!)
Freespirit76 - yes, it is being cleared; a really massive Volunteers Event going on Right Now. (next meet June 28th.2015)
There is a FaceBook-page: "Mount Moriah Cementary" with hundreds of pictures of the hard work. (In color!)
. . . . I really love this Gallery of Mount Moriah Cementary. . . .
Had completely forgotten HOW much i love Infrared + black/white pictures.... - all, or most, being in color these days. I keep looking......... in awe with joy.
Thanks.
I really like the graveyard shots! Thanks Motts!

Hopefully this group has cleaned the older areas up--so disrespectful to the dead to let graves go like this. On to the next...
I noticed that too Mica. Must not have been back there too long. Hopefully it gets towed out and it's owner is found (at least give them some piece of mind knowing what happened to their car). What some people won't do
I hope they maintained and stabilized this beauty!
That looks huge! Yes, you don't see that type of craftsmanship with today's monuments. I can only imagine the cost of something like that.
I'd be afraid of being bitten by something trying to get through there! So sad and makes no sense that they won't maintain this area. It's probably a lot prettier than the section where people are still being buried.

So Motts, you were saying a group has taken over caring for this place now. Do you suppose all this foliage had been cut back and controlled so these gorgeous monuments can be seen?
I love wandering through them too, Claudia. Depending on where they are located they can really be so quiet! With a little wind blowing, just a perfect place to take a stroll. The fall is great too with all the leaves changing color and the cool breeze!
Such a beauty!
I've seen some of these "bed" type headstones and wondered the same thing. I obviously knew the body was well underground but such a different concept anyway.
Thanks for the history on those because I have seen them and wondered why someone would pick a molded tree stump for a headstone but not it makes complete sense. Now I'll be looking to see what items have been added to the stumps!
