Necropolis

I've visited a fair number of cemeteries that were a bit unkempt; perhaps a few plots had become overgrown in the back and forgotten, but Mount Moriah was just literally wild. Fighting through thick vines and tall weeds, we sought out beautiful monuments hidden under the vegetation. As we proceeded deeper in, we were eventually surrounded by overgrown fields and mysterious obelisks emerging from the overgrowth, not a living soul to be seen. It certainly felt like I was discovering some long forgotten Victorian ruins for the first time.

Overcast hazy weather made the photos look just awful, so I decided to shoot almost entirely using an infrared filter. A strong breeze made the plants in the long exposures move and shift around the stones, creating a water-like appearance that I rather liked. I hope you enjoy!
