I went to nursing school at Pilgrim State in the 60's. So strange to see your pix. Lived there for 3 years (as a student !!!)and nothing strange happened as far as I remember. Love the pictures you have. Do you know the date of the library picture? Sure looks like the time I was there. I guess we all did look the same then!!
i worked at the power house, approx 1969-1970 20-21 yr old, i ran the large cat, payloader that scooped the coal up under the tresel and dumpted it onto the conveyer belt to the hopper on the roof. am 57 yr old now, nice to see these old photos, any questions about pilgrim, banjoman153@sbcglobal.net
all this could be restored and made into a wonderful university campus i think. to let all those wonderful structures deteriorate is a shame. the grounds should be revived in its authenticity instead of putting modern architecture into the countryside. it definitely should be deemed a historic site.
this is so incredible huge a complex. how were patients with diverse severe disabilities separated? had some patients liberties or were they all pretty much closely supervised at all times? were some allowed to walk the grounds? after all this is an amzing place. and were males and females strictly separated at all times? how was this building separating the two buildings you mentioned as far as security? locked doors? this is such a majestic structure! the entire place should be used as some sort of museum or something alike. it has such historic value.
larry, i have same interests as you but they should not be discussed here. neither buildings nor staff at large should be bashed. so, please write me privately, even on msn with same name and we can exchange information and details about our cases. i share your sentiments. thanks negritail
Uh Navi, I think you started it with your wise guy comment, you should have left it alone to begin with. My mother didn't just die, she was attacked and died as a result of the injuries sustained from the attack. However, you made a valid point and I have contacted a local attorney.
