Well...I would say that the pipes in the front were the fresh air supply for a number of engines. Notice how the pipe decreases in diameter as it moves to the back of the room. This is to make sure that each engine gets the same amount of air. The pipe that is hidden in the back is the exhaust for the engines. Notice that there seams to be one for each air supply vent. Just a thought.
