The black & white of this photo, makes this place seem older than it is & that a new winter coat of snow has fallen in the courtyard, covering the overgrowth there.

Nope I stayed inside; there didn't seem to be really much in to see in the overgrowth.

Did you go into the courtyard? If so was there still trails where you could walk maybe a bench or a butt can?

Violet - it never struck me they would be any colour but pink!

Pink Batts is the most common insulation in New Zealand. If you don't like the thought of fiberglass on your skin, this guy will make you cringe: http://www.asthmanz.co...sitive_Choice/Huggie Man Ultra.jpg Birrrk.

You would need supports to hold up the rest of the building, and these kinds of supports are pretty normal. Often times they can be covered by ceilings but here clearly they wanted to keep the space more open and higher.

Obviously there was no need to do this nicely as they put the bars in place to seal the building after it was shut down. Then either explorers cut them open or someone else needed to get in for some reason and they were sawed open.

I love the way the radiators on the upper level compliment the windows on the lower. Good Stuff

Why there would be ceiling supports resembling a highway overpass in a foyer area, I have no idea.
