Being confined in a dark damp basement for many years would likely drive you insane if you weren't already. The light and fresh air certainly couldn't hurt! Its a proven fact that sunlight is good for your mental and emotional health.

The old curved porch columns at the back have so much more style that the newer ones in front. I'm sure those were replacements with no thought of appearance - just practicality.

The building still looks in great shape, roof in tact etc. No graffiti sprayed on the brickwork. Just needs some TLC.

The wood work is in incredible shape after all this time. Could very easily be salvaged and reworked!! The light and textures in this shot are amazing!

The tin ceiling is a treasure! My Grandparents had a small grocery store in Southwest Detroit when I was a kid that had very high tin ceilings like that. Very cool!

Love the layer upon layer of paint on the walls. The curled up floor tiles give off an almost cheery feeling for some reason. Like they're smiling!
