Places that are patrolled often or on the inside put me on edge, as well as those with unknown inhabitants - to be relaxed in these situations isn't very smart IMO. I haven't experienced anything supernatural (yet).

do you get scared going into places like these? I would probly poop myself being alone. Shit I would poop myself if I was with a group of people. Do you go into any haunted places? and do you hear weird stuff?

Motts, as curious as I am to know the location (although since I live in Connecticut I am sure I will never go there), I admire that you have kept this location a secret and that and the fact that you have enough respect not to open the caskets! :-)

Thanks for the info Kez and Richard. I wonder if the crown/coronet had to somehow be attached to the coffin? I mean, I hope no one would have even thought of taking it anyway, but sadly enough, you never know.

With all respect to Dr. Riley, 8 large strawberry leaves signifies a duke. An earl's coronet would have 8 small strawberry leaves and 8 pearls.

Absolutely fantastic gallery. By far the best gallery of a burial crypt I've ever seen.

This is a coronet rather than a crown; a crown has arches over the top. This looks like the coronet of a duke. As to who, well...

A crown resting on a coffin usually signifies that the deceased was a monarch. Strange that there would be so many laid to rest here, in an unlocked crypt.

But I guess Motts can't tell us much about it in case he gives away the location. And I completely respect him for that :)

The "crown" is actually a coronet, and because he has eight strawberry leafs, it signifies the rank of earl. The specific features of different ranks of nobility are very particularly expressed in the varying coronets' design. Therefore, it is highly likely that there is an English Earl buried within this crypt.
