I posted here a while ago. Beautiful photo, Christina. I know what Pat means. I posted some of my paintings on my website, and who knows who might use them, even though they are copyrighted, as is the whole website. Celeste, your Minecraft is amazing!! Very beautifully done.
I'd love to see a recent photo of the front that faces the road.

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't checked back here in a bit. I have been hard at work on this project with my partner. We are in contact with several people about interviews.

I was over there last week and I spent about five hours filming the outside in every possible angle.

If possible, please post any demolition updates here, I want to make sure that I'm there when/if it happens. All I know is that the owner had 60 days to come up with a demolition plan, which was back in Feb I believe?

Celeste, that's totally cool, thank you.

She looks beautiful at this time of year, here's a photo from my last trip: https://sphotos-b.xx.f...617_2140522924_n.jpg

Christina Therese I am more comfortable with text I'm afraid but I'd be glad to make any statement on behalf of Halcyon Hall. Just feel free to email me mewimi [at] gmail [dot] com

Pat any photos of the basement would be greatly appreciated, particularly the basement floor plans would help even more hehe.

Also photos of the outer side of the West Wing that are of reasonable quality would be very nice. But again, I'm only interested in the 1897 Halcyon Hall, the additions made to it aren't really of particular interest. Thank you in advance! =)

Fortunately I completed that video, unfortunately youtube killed the quality and glitched the beginning lol. But I'm done messing with video formats for youtube's holiness for the month... so I apologize for the low quality.

Bennett LLC has defaulted on court orders to comply with
demolition. I can't say I blame them, ya know? I couldn't afford it,either! lol....

Celeste, you are right,in another week or three, the greenery will obscure much of Halcyon's diagonal views. Unfortunatley, I am in NO
position to consider tresspassing there at this point, for photo
purposes or anything else.

If i dig far enough into my...archives?.. I am sure i have the original
blueprints for the basement. It could take quite some time. In any
event they have been drastically altered from the original 1892
plans, in 1907, then in the 20's, 50's, and 70's...I developed a
composite set of plans for all of these eras, but they are buried deep,
along with the originals, SOMEWHERE...ask me in six months!!

Christina, sorry to hear of imposters ripping you off. It seems all
notions of authorship, originality, sourcing, footnoting, bibliographic
integrity, etc have gone out the window in the Unimaginative
internet era. The only real remedy is to never put ANYTHING out there
that you want presented as your own.

In other words, all the mediums and art forms that the internet was going to
put out of business supposedly, are all ALIVE AND WELL.

F$#%^ the internet. Make films? Try and get them shown the way they
used to. Make art? There are more galleries and alternative forums
than ever. Write? Books still get published all the time. Music?
Easier than ever to record your own, and play places that NEVER
used to consider live music. Etc etc All in the physical world.

I know I'm in the minority opinion. But the internet seems to me to be
good at PROMOTING these endeavours that occur OUTSIDE of
cyberworld. If you put it online, one gains a [potential] audience
that might not be exposed traditionally [if your also ok with your
work more likely than not becoming part of the wallpaper, as well]
...but it's a kind of Faustian bargain, in that an artist's sense of
control over their work instantly vanishes...and FOREVER. There is no
real remedy, once some cheapjack punk comes along and steals
your work, claiming it as their own.
Other than the certainty that they will only go so far, with hijacked
material?
I completely commiserate, I have had it happen, and it continues to
despite my best efforts to protect my own sundry enterprises from
ever being accessible by the net AT ALL!
The problem really is a lack of basic F#$%-ing ethics, in an age
when even a DJ is considered an artist. That is, that just recognizing,
choosing, or collaging, one assumes a mantel of authorship over
the materials of one's dabbling.
This is the central, Marshall Mc Luhan-esque conundrum of postmodern artistic practice. The Medium Is The Message.
The central distinction is that of CREDITING, ACKNOWLEGING,
FOOTNOTING, etc that is just GONE as far as the internet generation goes. Kids are just Stupid, today. I'm sorry, it has to be said. There
is not even ANY consciousness whatsoever regarding originality or
the notion of authorship, or intellectual property, or even [gasp!]
the tradition of recognition that ARTISTS THEMSELVES used to
accord one another, when an an artist has taken the time to carve
out an artistic ground for themselves. To influence anyone is flattering,
to be ripped off blatantly without any panache, let alone credit, can
be infuriating, no doubt.

Motts I'm sure has a unique perspective on these things. I'd venture
to say he has a unique and shrewd new model for surfing the
sometimes subtle distinctions of these issues with some degree
of experience, grace, but also a sense of philosophical detachment.
I think being prolific is the best defense. Most ripoff artists have a
super short attention span, and minimal imagination. It is hard for them to sustain any original spark at all, let's face it, ripping someone
else's idea off was their most original thought that day, right.?

And at the end of the day, no one can really get anywhere too far
without eventually coming up with the goods themselves.Still,
it is infuriating to be undermined by the casual anonyminity of what
could otherwise be a cool avenue of exposure.

Imagine if some nitwit tried to pass off Mott's photos as their own?
Can you imagine the shame and mockery that could be unleashed
on such a fool? But, I bet, it probably still happens, ya know?
So I'd say, just keep at it, these things eventually come out in the wash, as it
were.

The building is indeed still standing. I live in the village of millbrook and each year you can see the roof of the building seep down further. I have also been inside the building and it was beautiful in an eery sort of way. In the part of the building where the theater was there appeared to be stacks and stacks of old town files. In one room i saw a pile of a round 10 quija boards ripped in half. The building actually does not seem/feel overwhelmingly haunted though. The building looks like it is about to fall down any minute on the inside also. Its such a shame, wonderful things could have been done with the building especially in the town of Millbrook with such a tight knit community. I dont think anyone is going to demolish the building anytime soon unfortunately, Im sure some obnoxious teenager is going to set it on fire anytime soon though.

when PR shows up has no rhyme or reason but happy to hear from him - U keep up the good UE Stax8 always wanting to hear more about the pics across the oceans [????] who would think someone would so obsessed with stealing footage of Bennett-guess this particular site is really hot !!!!!!
It's such a strange story, He sent a personal message to me on youtube, I missed it because my inbox is usually full of spam. I later found his message when I was clearing out my inbox, he was asking if he could use some of my Bennett School footage for a "movie" that he is working on. Even though I never got back to him, he went ahead and used my footage anyway. Notice how it's strangely cropped and has bad compression? That's because he stole it directly from the youtube channel and must have done it in the wrong format. I was pissed but since it's old footage, I just told him credit us. As time went on, he would randomly message me trying to get my new footage. That's when I realized, he had no intention of filming any of this "movie" himself.

Underneath the video is says "Because of the sundry demands of family, work, etc., I cannot finish this project as planned for this month. Sorry to those who were patiently waiting and anyone else I've disappointed, but rest assure this project has started and will be finished sometime in 2013. I'll let you all know when with a new trailer."

That's all a bunch of bull crap, the real reason is because I won't give him anymore footage.

I don't even know how he got all of that Bennett footage? The first time I filmed Bennett was in 2009 and every time I make a new video, I delete the old one.

I've had this "Broken Beauty" movie mentioned to me several times from other people . "So did you hear that someone is making a movie about Bennett, their footage looks awesome." I always have to clear it up and tell them the story.

While searching for people to interview, I found this message board and of course, it mentions that Bennett trailer, so now you know the full story.

I would love to talk to PR, as long as he's okay with that =)

Took some shots of a abandoned hospital the other week and one of the better shots was of a sign saying:
These Buildings Have Camera Surveilance Beware.
HaHa was takeing snap shots in the middle of the day,in the middle of a working week.
Maybe they could see that i wasnt there to destroy the place so left me alone.Really wanted to get inside but it was well secured.
