Sorry - off and about. Bill wins the prize - they look like the mattress sterilizers we used to use. Don't know if they use them anymore anywhere - we just chuck mattresses when they are the least bit nasty these days, now that the state actually purchases enough extras to sleep a thousand. :-)
They look a lot like chicken nests. Not sure why they would have those though.

"Baphomet is the name of the the goat-headed Satan in the pentegram-symbol of Satanism."
No it isn't. The sign used by Lavey satanism is called the sigil of baphomet and is not related to satan at all. Lavey decided to incorporate the sigil by influence of the Occulstist Eliphas Levi.
The whole concept of Baphomet is not known with certainty but it's never related to satan or a representation of satan.
One last thing, Satan was not invented by the christian church.
P.S: This drawing I guess is supposed to create a horror-like atmosphere to the people of back then, which in my guess were mostly religious. What a way to start a ride don't you think?

Yeah, Motts - good thing you never have to artificially arrange any lighting! ;-)

Actually, Kime, I believe that the majority of Motts' pix have to have the lighting specifically set up by him to get these marvelous shots.

But then I was wrong 57 times today just before breakfast, so it's possible I'm wrong yet again.

I can answer that for you. They are files of people who were undergoing some pretty rough times who would be have been humiliated if they ever thought that anyone would be able to access this paperwork.

I wish I could convey the respect I feel for Motts when he leaves these intimate details out of the public realm. Even though much of this is truly boring in its day to day detail, it still names people by name and at times gets down to the nitty gritty.

Cheers and thanks for protecting these folks, my friend!

They do resemble chicken coops, and if the hospital were to be raising it's own livestock for a means of food, well Roasted Chicken is a great meal.
