That is so saddening. For such beautiful architecture and such history to have it fade away or be demolished is just heartbreaking.

Amazing photography that just makes me weep for all who found this massive structure to be a home.

WOW! You might be right. I definitely respect your opinion. Kirkbrides are my favorite buildings and to choose a "Grand Daddy" or an "Above the rest," that's just way too tough. I will say Buffalo State, Worcester, and Greystone are up there with Danvers architecturally.

Are these engines still at the plant, and what kind are they? They look like diesel engines to me, but i could be wrong. Thanks

I was skeptical at first as well. Then I took the pic and enlarged it and tinkered with the contrast and such and, by God, I think I DO see something in there. Yaggy's head in the sink scares me the most, and the person whose head is being weighed in the scale is almost as eerie, but look at that maniacal doctor staring out from the wall . . . . . =8-o

My hat and my most reguards to for your eloquent comments and understanding for all that has taken place in the years that we have both witnessed and you have so well stated in your many comments. Actually, I feel humbled by your understanding and comprehension of the macro history of mental health/ retardation, but also the details and minituae that also posess. In that case then there is nothing wrong with this drawing. It wasn't in an area around the patients and it was viewed merely as a frustrated joke by the staff so there's nothing bad about it at all then.
I wouldn't have been delighted to hear that it was for the children and residents to see but since it was only for the staff forced into a hated class then I can actually see some pretty good humor in the drawing. :D
I feel bad for anyone who is forced to attend these stupid classes, what the hell is the point anyway?
