With solid doors you can lock yourself in and do harm to yourself. Or you can corner someone else and it takes an extra minute to get in to assist them. Finally, if the person has few skills in ambulation, balance, or protective reflexes you can have a nasty fall in there and it takes a while to get in to help pick them up.
Im just glad its not like it was because i work with alot of the folks and if anyone wants to now about do research on the story Geraldo Riveria did on it thats one of the reasons why the state got more involved ..Its sad what they went thru but I thank GOD and people like Geraldo for getting involved and making a difference

No, this was always a psychiatric hospital... porches were a great way for patients to get fresh air without having to worry about leaving the building.
Johnny Mac - I've seen rounded corners almost always in Kirkbride buildings, which are all pretty much pre-1900 era structures and were built with aesthetics and beauty in mind. Vaulted ceilings and rounded corners are more expensive to make, and I'm sure the state was pressed to build these places quickly and cheaply during the 20's and 30's to alleviate overcrowding.
Yeah actually there was lot of people wandering around the last few times I was there; everyone wanted to see old main before it was torn down. I wouldn't leave Candace wandering around alone though!
2 b truthful, the ocurrences I mentioned earlier only happened once and we've been there at least 8 times 4 extensive periods of time shooting. I'm glad we're done now! I don't care 2 c anything paranormal! I'd have nothing 2 say anyway!
