The shot titled "Slim", a couple back, shows incandescent light fixtures mounted behind that clock face in a square pattern. Maybe these were similar at one time.

As far as I know both carousels are still in operation. The big one stripped of it's original animals is running at Misquamicut, and Ernie stated that the kiddie carousel with it's metal horses was operating at Del's (best lemonade around!!). Last I heard it was operating at a dairy/ice cream stand. It was a small portable ride, so I could see it making the rounds (no pun intended! ;-)

Has anyone else noticed how similar the children are to Charles Schultz' "Peanuts"?

Yes, it sure is a shame. Nothing original and left to look back on anymore. A park this old should have somehow been saved. Now it's gone forever.

There is something wonderful in the classical architecture of the arch contrasted to the flaking skin of the building...It's like it has a horrible case of eczema. The gorgeous and the ugly... as one.

Pardon me while I scream. The vertical stripe in the open doorway reminds me of part of a crucifix: as if the doorway frames part of a large one. This is a brilliant and unsettling image
