I second Aimee. Lynne, I never imagined that I would learn so much about human caring from this wonderful photographic site. Although your posts are long on occasion, I look forward to grabbing up my coffee cup, taking a sip, and thinking, "Let's see what Lynne has to say on the matter." Brava!

It's funny you should say that. In the 1980s there was a big asylum in New Jersey called EMS which wasn't well guarded. Kids used to walk in there and get lost all the time. I found a forum about the place once and checked in as a guest reading all the comments. Some people said they were lost for a good half hour in there. Although that was a HUGE place. It was toren down in 1993. :-(

A great uncle of mine was committed here after a head injury caused him to have violent outbursts. He must be in heaven because he lived through hell in this place. Thanks for the great pictures and a way to connect to a lost soul.

Yes it did, but I believe it was either renovated or demolished; not positive on that though...

Yeah I've gotten turned around a few times, but most of these places aren't so big as to get hopelessly lost for more than a minute or two.
