this boat is theDUTCHESS I scraped the ORANGE in black tom Jersey City in late 1970s these boats were steam powered Beautyful boats. After removing the upper decks and engines &boilers & over hanging side decks and all remainging wood The rest of the main deck and hull were steel in good shape. I than put the boat up for sale as a barge. I also removed the two six foot propellers. I ALSO locked the two rudders in place. After a few years i finaly scrapped the boat. I have many pictures of the boat being scrapped. I hated to scrap the poor boat

It appears from my research that my great-great-grandmother was a patient at this hospital. I really appreciate being able to learn a little more about it. Thanks for the website. She is found on a 1870 census record in this hospital. If you had not placed the pictures and info here, I would have never known what it looked like or a little more about it.
