A med cart on wheels, rolling thru an open ward is certainly not a good idea under these particular circumstances. I've been a nurse for a long time (27 yrs) and worked in a couple older type buildings (not psych facilities tho) and can see how things could get dangerous for the med nurse out in the open with meds in a cart, locked or otherwise. (I spent time as a student at Torrence State Hospital)

I don't think the top is spattered though, I think they first painted the entire room with the color then painted the white on top of it. Over the years, the white is coming off.

It is a subduing color, isn't it. Bland and sickly soothing.

Ironic that these doors meant to be kept closed are now open.

Just a beautiful touch of blue creeping into the shot! The photo wouldn't be the same without the contrast.

For a dropped ceiling they really didn't drop it very far... Looks like it is only 1-2 feet lower and still creates a 12' ceiling. That wouldn't have made a difference in heating or cooling.
