Half walls were used as dividers. There would be dozens of beds in one room and the dividers provided a kind of sense of 4 or so people to a section instead of an overwhealming 20 or something.

Notes are written on the machine by maintenance employees. The RS means right side for reassembly when machine is apart. Looks like a shaft mounted exciter by which the main generator gets its DC. The steam turbine that drives the main generator spins this also eliminating the need for two mg sets.

This was the called the school building. Theatre is so graceful knowing what it really was. One of the clients that I knew was actually waked there after I no longer worked there. This site is amazing.

Your documentation of such craftsmanship at these locations is truly amazing and heartbreaking at the same time. It really is hard to understand how anyone can leave these treasures behind when they vacate the building.
