As an ex pupil (1932-1939) I thoroughly enjoyed these marvellous photos but was saddened to see how my wonderful school has fallen into such a pitiful ruin

I worked in that kitchen. The people I worked with were the best. The picture only shows a little of the kitchen. Too bad it had to close down.

You must see Terror Behind The Walls.. This cell reminds me of a setup they did with a very freaky actor who hid in the back of a pitch dark cell and jumped up to the gate as you passed by.. I almost started crying!!

I was a SUNY, Plattsburgh student nurse and spent three months at Pilgrim State in 1962 for my psychiatric rotation.Lived in building 69. Anyone remember Arthur Pointka a student nurse at Pilgrim State in the 60s - an old high school classmate of mine.

This would be all too tempting to sit down and go through this stuff. Being the pack rat I am, I would probably be stuffing what I could in my car. Very very sad but it's a fact of life. I had a job where I would type up estate appraisals after someone died and all I could think of was 'this is what life is about"? You live, accumulate things, then croak and then some stranger goes through your stuff and says this is worth $2, this is worth $5. We should have more respect for the dead.
