Wow, gorgeous tile!!!!
My lucky day - another gallery - yea! Such gorgeous tile and marble etc. and lovely wooden pews. I agree with all the comments made before me - such a travesty to put all of this in a landfill!!
Steam pipes
This would make cool apartments, I know I'd live there with a setting like that to look out on.
does anything remained of the amusement park or is everything gone

Wonder what the artisans who worked so hard, diligently, and lovingly to build such a beautiful building would think if they could see it now? :-(
(*.*) - ROUNDED, mean. (sorry)
Yes. Can´t figure it out really, Darlene.
This be the Exit door opposite The Altar, methinks
- but I looked at Google Earth Time Slider - (go back to e.g. year 2004), and Transfiguration of Our Lord has N/S orientation. The big ronded stairs are S. Altar is N.
Honestly, also always thought The Altar facing East, was correct + it.
Much of the time it has to do with money. Demolishing a building and carting it off to a landfill is cheaper than an organized effort to have people come in and salvage the pieces bit by bit. Sad though. There are companies out there that would salvage the usable/sellable portions and demolish the rest but maybe they are still more expensive than using a wrecking ball.

I see the figure and I think this might have been a picture of a child praying with and angel hovering over him.
