It sux that they ttore this place down...except for the fire house (oddly) I live a block away from this eerie place and feel strange when i walk by it.
Did you like the black and red stairs? I thought this bit was freeky cuz it was oldfashioned yet modern with the stairs, but no far away was the padded rooms right? I was gutted cuz all the padding was ripped out
Just to let everyone no, it is defenetly peeling paint! When i was there today, we kept walking past rooms and looking at it thinking it was cloth so in the end we went into one of the rooms and it is paint! We were amazed how paint could turn like that lmao x
i did my work experience at the hospital back in the 80s i would take the lady down to the lawns for a glass of juice it so sad that this place has closed. this was there home and they felt safe
PEOPLE THAT LLIVED AT WILLOWBROOK AND THIS PLACE SHOULD GIVE THE CHANCE TO TO TAKE THERE ANGER OUT AND DO WHAT EVER IT IS THAT THEY WANT TO TO THE PLACE NOT FARE. I USE TO LIVE IN WILLOWBROOK FROM 1969 TO 1980 I WAS BORN DEAF BUT MY MOM WAS TOLD I WAS DEAF AND DUMB SO WOULDNT LEARN ANYTHING. I THOUGHT WILLOWBROOK WAS THE ONLY PLACE BUT JUST TODAY I RAN INTO THIS WEBSITE AND I GUESS I WAS WORNG MAKES ME FEEL SAD THAT I COULD HAVE ENDED UP THERE TO BECAUSE I STARTED LATE ON THINGS . they used these at my elementary school, we had children with serve down syndrome and what not, it was part of their therapy i believe, to get them out of the wheel chair, they loved it, when we would spin them and push them down the halls..it was good to see smiles on their faces
