I have not seen a "table" on a track like that. The tracks that I am familiar with are on the ceiling and they move to position the patient in the correct way. Looks like the ceiling was inadequate for the weight of the x-ray equipment so they placed the "table" on a track. Many times expensive equipment has been depreciated and has no value left for the accountants to work with, so they just leave it. The cost of shipping this equipment would be very high, but it would seem like some group should step up and do that rather than see it rust out and end up in a trash heap.

I wouldn't think it would be Betadine. I think Motts would be able to find that source pretty quickly. I'd think it would be some type of rust in suspension. Possibly leaking stagnant rusty water in the pipes mixing with a tile or wallpaper adhesive?

Morgues are usually attached to the lab. There are many times during the day that the staff is not in the morgue. So if a funeral home comes to pick up a body they have to get the attention of the staff. Thus the morgue alarm. Kind of a crazy name for it since it is just a doorbell..............

I work with two IDD (intellectual developmental difficulties) patients that were housed at Pennhurst, the one still has flashbacks and promises to be good if we wont shackel him. Our company NEVER uses resraints but he still remembers. They broke his feet there, they sodimized him and broke his spirit and he still pays with the flashbacks.

from the era and it being a hospital it is probably just a dumb terminal talking (in all likely hood) to a mainframe.

Brand New = very expensive, state of the art, high tech. Two days later = obsolete, no value, too heavy to move, can't sell. It's the same with just about everything, cars, computers, furnishings, office / industrial equipment. That is, until it gets REALLY old, then it's a valuable antique!

Serious? For an abandoned hospital this room is in GREAT condition! I was in the hospital for an ulcer in March, and the room wasn't that much better than this one!

The blue light is thought to keep a mental patient calm. we use them in the back of ambulances. If you ever see the back of an ambulance glowing blue, there is a mental patient inside. Usually transporting a suicidal patient.

A lot of us know that now but did loose a feeling of love and family from that time. Its just different for us. Some of the best friends I have ever had were while I was here. us kids just fell apon each other. And we all stuck together. For the ones I talk to today, even though I haven't met them and they were there at different times. There still seems to be a type of bond.

Actually, Fieldstone Secondary School was built, which is what you can see in the picture. They took seven of the old buildings and connected them with newly constructed hallways. The majority of the school is new construction. Only the library, cafeterias, technology, and art classrooms use the old buildings.
