In the olden days as they're called, they used to sometimes leave things inside these posts at the end of the stair case because usually they were hollow. I think they were called newlposts, not sure of the spelling. We had one in the house I grew up in and we popped the top off and inside were papers left by the original builders from like 1902. Sometimes they would leave blueprints, notes and other documents pertinent to the structure. It's always nice to find "buried treasure".
ohmygod I love the comparison between the old and the current -really makes you look back and forth and think of all kinds of things from the people that worked and lived there to is that what my house will look like in 100 years - amazing
Something about this room I absolutely love. Even with the sinking floor and no window, I still find it mesmerizing. What I don't get are the ceilings. Are they brick and if so how on earth did they do that? I've never seen brick ceilings before. And yet, I can't see this room with anything else but. PS - thanks for a wonderful new gallery.
I've been through the hospital a couple of times. Me and my friends all heard a voice at the same time, so i knew it was just me freaking myself out. My friend started getting bad anxiety when we went in a certain part of the hospital and she said she heard a ton of voices in her head repeating "get out, you shouldn't be here, they dont want you here, we don't want you here" over and over. and she said when we went into a room that must have been just a room for the patents to hang out in, that she saw them and she felt like she was walking through and it was all kind of in sepia.. it's weird but it freaked her out so we left. she's never had voices in her head and never has seen anything like that. i know she wasnt just making this up because when we went in that room i saw her looking around like there was people there..freaky what that place still has the power to do. idk what really went on there..but i'm not too sure i really want to know.
I am obsessed with this school and I am obsessed with the little boy, Paul Ramos Jr, who jumped off of the third story roof of the dormitories on August 9th 1963 or 1964, when he was attending summercamp there. If you know anything about the old dorms or have pictures of them, or know where they were located on the grounds, can you please email me at sarahjamesonalbrecht@hotmail.com.
I'm dying to know why I feel the way I feel about this school. Before I knew the story or knew it was haunted, from the very first time I saw it, I was intrigued by it. I don't know why, maybe it was just the huge gates enclosing it. But now that it's open to the public, I can't even bring myself or my friends to drive more than a few seconds up the driveway. Please help.
