This lounge chair looks like it came straight out of the 1950's
or the very early 1960's.

Thank you for these wonderful photographs (all of them). My great, great grandfather's company, A. Friederich & Sons Co., built this amazing building, and, although it's very sad to see how badly deteriorated it has become, your beautiful photographs document some of the wonderful craftsmanship used in the construction of it. Thank you. If you want to learn more about the builders of this great building, I have created a website here: http://afsco.clarosa.info/

I have the same picture...we have been to a lot of the same places!
I am impressed at the over all structure. Aside from the deteriorating inside, the 'bones' of the building seem to be holding up quite well. Is the state grant still going to be used to restore this incredible building?

If you are speaking of the white looking thing dangling that is most likely an electrical outlet for either a light over a sink or a chandelier.

My grandparents worked here back during its heyday. My grandfather played his fiddle on the roof. I heard it was the talk of the town back in it's day. Also, I heard the real reason it shut down was because the boiler room caught on fire. Thanks for the history!
