Even the trees are taking a rest....I like how they are leaning toward the water.
This place seems to be holding up pretty well. It's so magical and mysterious, esp. this shot.... a house made with a giant ice cream cone, 'frosting' for mortar and a castle in the background? Very cool. I'd probably live there if I could. I think it would be fun to live in a 'gingerbread' house. Lord knows I have a sweet tooth. XD
This is pretty bizarre; kinds makes you wonder about fairy tales sometimes...lol.. I like those little feet going up the chimney. :)

I'll bet a state hospital had to provide some education and perhaps some of these spaces were for that purpose.
I'm in Gulfport; maybe sometime I'll take a drive and see the old towers. The newspaper article was great, what with all of the broken equipment and all. ;)

I wonder if this was a community meeting space for the town/states business and/or for the employees - this one doesn't strike me as a place for the patients.

Yep, duckpin with the little balls - what a 'wicked' treat to see a shot from '57. We live extremely close to Norwich (Escoheag, RI). Norwich is STEEPED in old - vibes galore and photo ops to 'the max'.

They had a kid waiting at the turn to bring you into the office if you jumped off. They'd kick you out of the park.

Looks like no one uses this site anymore but just in case...
Since last post in Sept 2010 I've found a few things of my Aunt Marjorie's that evidentially were special to her.A few inexpensive pieces of jewelry a couple of wrist watches and greeting cards to my Mom that she used to send for any holiday and she always wrote a passage from the bible. I also found an old photograph of her and what a beautiful woman she was.Finding her photo and the cards from Aunt Marjorie, made her even more real to me.Her handwriting was a little shakey but ledgible and somehow she managed to send $2 in with the card. Amazing. Again, God Bless you Aunt Marjorie,Love Linda
