Those look like modern plastic shower stalls, no tiles. They look like they could be from the 80's

This picture was of a seclusion room. I spent 10 years here in the 60's. It was a place of unspeakable torture.

yeah! New gallery! Love the write up on this. You are always great telling the history, that's what keeps most of us coming back I think. It shows the world that you care about keeping these records; we can never go forward without at first looking back....

I spoke to the high school boy who interviewed me. He will call you very soon. His name is Will Grossman. I'm very sorry about your wife's sister and I agree that the DMH really needs some of its power taken away. Drugs are not the way to treat a person's problems, and if they included more therapy and less abuse, people wouldn't consider mental hospitals as complete shitholes. Everyone in today's hospitals are people too, and should be treated as human beings. I think one of the problems is lack of funding for the DMH.

More fires have been started AFTER Pennhurst was clused than while it was open. Maybe they should've closed down the school and left the fire station open.

I love this photo. Nature is unrelenting & efficient in it's reclamation of anything made by humans. The wall on the left hints at what once was with it's decorative pain scheme. However, nature is unimpressed and continues her work.

I agree with LucieLou. I would spend the majority of the day on my stomach watching feet shuffle by. Fascinating perspective.
