After living at the hospital for ten years, I learned that hydrothrophy was the use of a patient being put into a bath tub, covered with a canvas except for their head, and ice added to the tub until they went into shock. This was the best treatment of the day to stop a person from acting out and hurting themselves or others. The tub was in front of that partition. And no there was no privacy at all while a patient there, night or day.

I believe this was where the tons of weight of the generator were sustained. Just a guess, though :-)

This actually inspired a drawing of mine. I was thinking about all the people talking about DNA and i thought " What if someone took all that DNA and made a new person?" and drew a girl stepping out of an autopsy shower, just like this! Great job!

i lived on ph grounds in a trailer park just under womens building in 1972 for 2years after the flood it wasnt bad . they didnt bother us . and we made friends with some in mates...this was a theater they showed movies .we got to go to see them with a black woman named hellen who lived there. later my mom worked there ..she was an aid..she used to pray for them .she saw the hurt in their eyes ..it was a home to them.

Attended NAPS in 1961 @ Tome School. Was very impressive then. Stopped at the old gate area for base in 2006, but didn't see anything else. Read article [ 2011] that Port Deposit wants to restore some of buildings & redevelop base area also.

@autoguy: I know of a woman who spent 20+ years at Willard simply for having Cerebral Palsy. It's scary to think of all the ppl that were committed to such places for so long and so little.

That is fantastic, just seems like it out of place. Not what I would expect to see through a door way that beautiful :)
