The fireplace was not taken by vandals. It was disassembled in 1996 and the stone was numbered and is being stored currently. I was security there at the time of this. The owners of the property aka advisory committee knows all about this. Its in safe keeping

sometimes graffiti is cool and adds interest to these pix and places but this is not one of those times.

Was jus dere in that exact same spot 2 days ago. At 3 am. So it was very spooky and me and my friends went in the children nd adult building gotta say it was scary but lots of fun. Besides the part wen we had to run from the cops

Was at the pines this weekend they are now in the process of demoing it.. they already took down what looks like 3-4 of the buildings.. And one of the buildings in front the roof fell through the middle all the way to the first floor.. its a shame whats become of it and what vandals have done to it..

My mother was institutionalized in PSH in 1961 when I was 8 years old. My father would take me in the car with him to visit her on the weekends, but leave me in the car. Just the sight of this place have me the chills and I had nightmares about it for the longest time. She was released and came home later that year, with the advances of psychiatric medications got to the point where she never had to be returned to this place, thank God. My mother died in 1983, but was never really a whole person. Only in death was she finally released of the grips of her mental illness. Readers, pray for those who are ill and pray for their families. Those who are sick arte unaware of what is going on really, it is their families who really suffer.

Silver....so they would pad the outside of the doors as a way to keep whats going on inside the rooms private from the waiting rooms......why not just have a thicker door? i guess not having padded rooms whilst seeing a doctor would bring some comfort to the patients heh

@Sasha, in order to preserve and protect these magnificent structures as long as possible from the hordes of Mott's wanna-bes, Opacity keeps the locations and (in most cases) the actual names classified. This also protects the amateur explorer from themselves. It would be tragic if a teenager died in one of these buildings because they wanted to do what Motts (a very seasoned and experienced explorer) did.

It would be insanley creepy if the place was haunted and something other than human wrote it

This hospital has alot of the same thing as the movie did. And alot of the photo's looks as if you were in the same hospital as the movie was filmed.

Think of this, when this place was functional there was a plant manager, the guy with all the experience. This place covers probably 10 or more acres but he's the one who'd be on the other side of the plant from these controls trying to fix something and be able to tell a worker, oh ya, we need to reset the blah blah blah switch, it' s in the so and so room on the other side of the plant..............go do it. There's always one.
