My elementary school also had similar brick work, alas the brick has long since been taken down. The school was built in the late 50's. Cervus, any chance you went to Vivian?

It looks like the red bricks were plastered over, look along the left side. It was probably B&W, a very dramatic room.

I remember a bar in the 70's had one of these in the men's room that guys peed in.
