How beautiful..

Little shrine slike this are quite common in northen Italy, sometimes you can even spot them in the middle of a city.

Just discovered this website & it is bringing me back to the early & mid 1970s when my buddies & I ran amuck in this place! Those were some great times. And yes, as the "Urban Explorer" notes, there were three such rooms, all with earthen floors, and not much to see.

Lots of strange and not good stuff happened out there, including a murder very close to "the hole." Then again, my buddies & I had a blast...

I agree, its for ironing. We had these in an old dress shop I worked at int eh alterations room. The top board was for ironing and at least ours had these irons that were hooked up to a water supply to generate industrial strength steam. belive that bottom part / shelf would be where oversized items like sheets (or in our case dresses/gowns) would rest so they would not hit the dirty floor. At least thats my opinion

I'm pretty sure that the labels over the valves are zone markers describing what section(s) of the building each zone controls...Each zone has a seperate shutoff for maintenance in a given area without requiring the entire building's water (steam?) to be shut off....IMO!

Looks like Oak, definitely a door at one point swung from those hinges, not bent wood, though, the grain is running vertically all the way across the opening....Old world craftmanship, Gotta love it!

Mollie, that purple tube does look too modern and out-of-place. So does the rubber band right next to it. Maybe someone else exploring the building in the last few years left them there...

Flat Stanley... I remember reading the first book in like first or second grade.

These were used for the hot and cold water therapy at this hospital--not for general bathing.

It's like Disney took the Tower of Terror from this....

Wow my dad was in the. Childrens ward 65 years ago. He was torchered and abused for many years. Some how he survived those horrible years and produced 5 children and 13 grand children!!! He truly is an amazing Man!!

What if Motts walked in and the toe tags had his name on them? !!!
