Ive been here a few times also inside some of the buildings. Some of the patients were turned over by their family to the state. We as humans test on animals which I think is worse, why not test on humans. These were people that showed unrecoginizable behavior and were not responsive to normal humal connection. I believe in the lobotomies that were done maybe they couldve prevented what happened in ct.....

I actually worked here around 1971.......the place was kind of run down then.....the room you're showing was the "Crystal Ballroom" and was the
largest reception room in the hotel. The larger weddiing receptions were done here. By today's standards it was a little tacky, but probably
for the 1960's or early 70's was about the best the valley had to offer.

Brelinka I was there from the time I was 13-15 as well. I can remember having to walk the mail from the south to north building. Your description is dead on of our day rooms. I remember we had some pretty cool staff members unless you pissed them off then they would send me to the quiet room or even worse 4 point restraints. I hated that place!

This style of printing was used long after typewritters were around for two reasons: it allowed high-quality printing with proportional type (e.g., "i" narrower than "o") and different fonts and type sizes. It was also good for runs of stationary--a lot easier than pounding out a batch of forms on a manual typewritter and carbon paper. No doubt it was used to print up forms for patient reports, etc. Some places used this sort of thing for small runs well into the 1990's.
