So many powerful comments about stolen lives.

Will be including some thanks to God tonight that I grew up in a loving family with toys all my own.

Their souls are gone to eternity, but the awfulness remains.

Good thinking Motts. Post 9/11, if you're taking pictures and notice that more than two random people looking at you in obvious suspicion, it's time to pack up and leave *at once*.

@ chris - nice one. Personally I'm too disturbed to come up with anything clever at the moment.

@ nvusofmotts - I'm told that near everything really did have a 'psychedelic' cover/back illustration. The cultural spillover from the hippie/counterculture movement was THAT intense.

I couldn't have gone past that door without blocking it with something.

@ Prancer - yeah one zombie survivalist told me "locked doors work both ways" and I'd never thought about it until then.

@ Erin - considering the history, it's almost certain. And vandals write in big black marker or spraypaint.

@ Northside - I could write a book's worth of testaments to tape companies. If the environment isn't damp you'd be amazed how long tape can hold.

Aw God...that is horrible. Like watching the movie "Balto" where the wolf sees the carpenter building a kid-sized coffin.

I'll make sure and hug my nieces/nephews next time they come to visit.

Yeeuuuugh. I have visions of something awful coming out of that...and if that is a 'grinder pump, the "eww" factor is 100x worse.

If you're ever back there Motts please do try to drag a bed over that so there's SOME kind of barrier/warning before you just take a wrong step and fall in. This is why you always look where you're going while urbexing and never ever go without adequate lighting.
