when they left that place did they just leve the peeps in the cage to die and when they all died they came put them in bags and thow them away

Wow I was looking for this place on the internet and found this. I was one of the boys who helped clean things up in there before the demo and I was knee high inside the diaper room, lol. We bagged and hauled them all out to the incinerator, being they were probably not suitable for use as they had been there a long time and infested with mice, rats, coons, everything. My buddy suggested the hospital had children too at times and the diapers were used for bed wetting ect ect. Obviously they didn't have to use them a lot. And yes we found adult diapers too. Funny and cool to see this here, Eric.

Yeah, I wish they could've saved this building a long time ago as well. I wonder if its still going to be demo'd yet. I do recall the forums mentioned it last year but no one has updated it yet. Its sad but this building has been rotting away since the middle 70's , I think it would cost tons of money to help save it now. Which is such a shame. That kinda of quality and workmanship is hard to find today. You probably can but the cost would be higher than at the time this was built.

What a treasure the Chapel was! And how very sad it couldn't be saved. I was at Eden Hall for five years, and the beautiful Chapel was a place I would often love to visit. Many thanks for the pictures. Great memories!

This building was used to house the patients who were considered a danger to them selfs and others. Most of the patients in here had committed crimes, and were given a sentence of guilty by reason of insanity so they had to be put under tight lock and key. From what i've heard this building has been demolished. Despite the beauty of these buildings so much suffering happened within thair walls, but they will never build them like this again. You can tear down the building, but you can't tear down the pain that still lingers within these building. The sadness will always remain.

And it shows up really well in Google Earth, with good street view and all; this place is intriguing, original and a creation for imagination these days with its increased but dignified crumble, break up, decay and sunder.

Definitely close to Nature these days, and yes, methinks the bench had a paillasse, or pad/squab stuffed with horse-hair, covered in embroidered woolen cloth, and so heavy it would always stay in place.

Yes. 2006. Some of the window-frames still have glass. That is amazing. May be they do not today.
