Actually, there was a small square hole in the center of the clock face, just above where the hands pivoted; perhaps it was used to manually adjust the hands. That's where this photo was taken.

Know paint peels, yes OK; but never knew paint could peel in such big huge flakes.

That is one big dead lonely plant. Very weird nobody would want a big plant. Hm....

I've used concrete paint that color on the floors in my house to control for damp. It was/is a waterproof sealer it's very thick and I think it has latex in it. My home is on a slab and is 65 years old I expect the stuff works from both sides water on top or to stop it from emitting out of the concrete.

Yes, that structural glazed block is super tough stuff. Permanent ceramic wall finish combined into in a load bearing application. Lots of it was used everywhere in schools, hospitals, locker/shower room areas, absolutely. It's still available but may be passed by to reduce costs these days.

Look close, there's a spot where the shower head pipe came out. Three knobs also, the center one diverts the flow up and down.

Sponge bath area maybe. Nurse would have the bath soap and other items on the shelves then wash the patients using the faucet. I see no shower head so seems like they'd be standing there waiting for it to be over with.

Not surprising that it was built in the '70s AND it's the most decayed. Materials and workmanship just didn't come up to previous standards all over the country, and winters in that part of the country are less than kind to careless construction and maintenance.
