All those bones were sealed in the crypts until some ghouls dragged them all out to search for valuables, grab the skulls and gold teeth, etc.. Somebody may still come back for the few that are still sealed, no telling.

And there you have it. Some ghoulish creepo lost his chopper-popper no doubt. What some folks will do for a buck, huh?

My thoughts also. I think some folks will pay good money for skulls too. There's a market for 'em.

I imagine it was a search for gold teeth, jewelry, and other artifacts of value. I wouldn't have the stomach for it, but some folks obviously do. And yes, they are thinking the deceased "won't be needing that any more", and they grab it. No skulls either. Some folks like those too. There's some sick puppies wandering around.

I have done much research on Pennhurst and it upsets me knowing what was happening to the people who were brought there. I always wonder what the families thought when say their loved one with bruises and teeth missing. I wonder if the felt guilty or nothing at all. I know from reading many children if came out a live went to other families other than theirs because of knowing. I also know that also some of the people who were there went to other asylums because their family couldn't help them. what also surprised me was the state payed for everything. I;m just happy it had been closed down enough souls were lost there.

Those two are still kicking to get out. The coffins are not rotted enough yet.

Seems that large corporations now own many of the USA cemeteries. It's the "death care industry". SCI, Stewart, Carriage Services, Keystone. Many are municipal and church owned. Varies. I imagine the treatment of the graves depends on who is still alive to give a crap. No known descendents? No lawsuits. Brick the thing up and forget about 'em I guess.
