The reason a lot of these more recent abandoned buildings keep the electricity on is to dissuade vandals from stripping out all the copper wiring. $127,000 a year might seem steep, but it's cheaper than fixing vandalism if the city chooses to reactive this location. It would just be a matter of cleaning the place up and repainting the walls.
