in my house we have skelton locks, and when you take the lock plate off all you ca see is the wood of the door, the lock mechanism is completly incased in a metal case that is then incased within the door. As foe how would you open it, I would guess that you would leave the key in and pull.

Glass floors arereallynot that bad. The old library in my town has a glass floored mezzanine in it. The floor has a couple of cracksin it, but they have not felt it neccesarry to repire them, and I have been going there for over 20 years. By the wat our old library is now the town museum so it is a well kept building.
