HOLY CRAP, MOTTS! Don't DO that! lol
*laughs but still alittle shaken...*
NOW I see why the "Most Haunted" crew came here!
I can imagine this at the top of a cliff overlooking the sea and the waves crashing at the bottom of it.
Thanks, Motts! Once again you've taken me to another place and another time. ; )
Just beautiful! I also love the look of the tree, and is it a railing?, under the archway, you framed it very nicely indeed.
It's like a picture within a picture.
The tree looks like a HUGE snowflake falling to the ground.
It looks like skies from two different worlds are colliding up there and becoming one.
Or maybe they're battling to see which one will take over.
My bet is the one with the most light.
Oh wow. Just beautiful...now THOSE are some window treatments! So MUCH detail but not to the point where it could have looked gaudy or over the top.
I feel like Frodo when he put on the ring. ; )
This photo just comes to life with the way you captured it and your description of what it was probably used for. I can actually imagine hearing the clip clopping sound of a horse drawn carriage pulling up to it. : )
AHA!!!! I KNEW I took the day off for a good reason! Where's my cup of tea?
Motts, I have to say that I had never seen infrared photos til I saw yours and it's definately been love at first sight!
Some comments have reminded me of a bbok I have. It's the screenplay version of Stephen King's "The green mile." Frank Darabont wrote it and in the very beginning it states this,
"We each owe a death, there are no exceptions...
Thanks, Ozzy and Janice! : )
I have to say that this site, even though it doesn't have as many pictures as Motts' others, is truly fascinating and one of my favorites!
These coffins are beautiful!
I also never knew that they covered them the way some of these are shown.
Once again, this site has not only been truly entertaining, but educating as well with the many comments by it's viewers.
I can understand you being curious.
It would be cool...IF it was a horror movie.
But it's not.
In all seriousness, these are people that have lived their different lives, died, and have been put in their final resting place.
It is out of respect that these were not opened.
This place was photographed to show the inside of such a beautiful building and the amazing craftsmanship that went into the coffins of that time.

Respect is the running theme that you'll find in all of Motts galeries. : )
Lynne~THAT would be a such a cool horror scene!!!!
Didn't Iron Maiden Productions put that movie out? ; )
With my luck I'd put it on and you'd hear the most unbelivable scream, as soon as it touched my head.
And when Motts found his voice, he'd be saying, "TOUCH WITH YOUR EYES! TOUCH WITH YOUR EYES!
How many times do I have to tell you to touch with your eyes!" : )
Beautiful poem, Twug!
You have a quite the gift! : )
It really does look like a scene out of Dark Shadows. Or an Anne Rice novel.
