Weston Insane Asylum in Weston, WV gives tours and other great pakages (Ghost hunts, etc) for reasonable fees. It is a Kirkbride building and well worth the time and money since we can't all be Mr. Motts!

That's a shame all that stuff was not donated to mission groups in third world countries.

This is one location I wish that I had gotten a chance to go back to.

Coal Transport Rail system built into the upper sections was awesome as well

I have a photo with friends taken in front of this thing for a size comparison

Back to the first posters comment, Thomas Kirkbride had nothing to do with that Monstrocity.

This shot was taken from the roof of the kirk looking toward a more modern medical building.

Can you still get in here?

Kirk,

That would be cool but it would cost more the renovate than to tear down and rebuild. Sad but true.

I grew up in KP and KPHS is across route 25A roughly on the south side the KPPC property, if you were to walk south from Building 7 you would come out somewhere near the high school. On the north side much closer to KPPC is the middle school (closer to 93 if memory serves me right). What was crazy about that is a couple of times when I was in school there and KPPC was still open crazies from there came over and into the school. They were quickly picked up and escorted back here they belong. No one dangerous just the day treatment people I think.
